About Me
My name is Lauren Montgomery, and I am currently a junior elementary education major at Mizzou. I want to be a teacher so that I can provide a safe environment for my students that may not have that at home. I also love watching kids grow throughout their year. They change so much from grade to grade--not only in their knowledge but also their maturity level and self-confidence.
As you can tell by my photo above, one of my favorite things is to travel! I everything from the beach to the mountains, and seeing the world is a long-term goal for me. I definitely got this love from my family who travels as much as we can. We have been everywhere from Colorado, to New York City, to Mexico, to the Domican Republic, to Italy! I also got to go to Equator and the Galapagos Islands on a high-school spanish trip. All of these trips give me a new insight into different cultures and ways of life!
The most important things in my life are my family, my friends, and my faith. I am so lucky to be able to have the amazing family that I do that has given me a foundation for all of my beliefs, an opportunity for an education, and so much love! My friends are just as important to me. I have met almost all of my college friends through my sorority, Pi Beta Phi. I met them all freshman year, and I honestly don't know how there are so many amazing girls in one pledge class. My friends from home are primarily from my high school, Notre Dame de Sion. It was an all-girls, Catholic school, so I had a different experience than most high school students. It was such an important part of my life because it made me more comfortable, confident, and who I am today. Lastly, my Christian faith has changed my life so much. Since being at college, I have met so many girls that have really impacted my life and gotten me involved in becoming a better Christian.
