1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
- I am hoping to teach first or second graders so I want to incorporate a lot of art projects. In my host classroom last semester, my teacher had a hard time finding time to incorporate art because of how long it took the students to cut, glue, and draw. She did try to have at least one project a week, and I really admired that. The students loved it, it made her classroom more colorful, and it was great for the students motor skills. I think that looking at artwork during different units could also be incorporated. This would take very little time, and it would expand the students' knowledge on the subject.
- Integrated learning/integration is when teachers combine subjects into other subjects so that students get a more rounded idea of the topic they are learning about. This type of learning allows general education teachers to incorporate art, music, and movement into their classrooms without setting a specific time in the schedule for it. There is more that one way to integrate subjects which can involve having two different teachers teaching a related unit or one teacher teaching both in their classroom if they have enough knowledge on both subjects.

- I would say that I am about a 3 on this scale. I love doing abstract art, but I am not a good drawer. I have had art teachers that have graded on what my art looked like which made me nervous to do art.
4. Rate your comfort level in analyzing and talking about art, and discuss.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
- I do not know much about analyzing art so I feel like I would give myself a 3 on this as well. I think that it can be really challenging to discuss what emotions and messages artists are trying to get across.

1. How do you envision using art in your classroom?
- I hope to integrate art into as many different subject areas as possible. Throughout the semester, I have learned how much students can learn from creating and viewing artwork. Art can easily be integrated into many literacy lessons to visually represent whatever subject matter they are studying, and we have also learned many ways to integrate art into social studies by representing different cultures or periods of time. I hope to use VTS to introduce history lessons as well because I think it allows students to learn to lead their own discussion, and it encourages them to pay attention to many different details.
- Integration is when teachers combine multiple subjects into one lesson to enhance the students' understanding. Art can be integrated into any core subject such as literacy, math, social studies, or science. It allows students to be exposed to different styles of learning while also saving time for the teacher because he/she can teach material from both subject matters.

- I would give my self a 4 on this scale because I have realized that artwork does not have to be difficult at all! It can be very simple projects that can show emotion and be made your own. I feel much more comfortable making artwork to use as examples in my classroom.
Uneasy 1 2 3 4 5 Comfortable
- I would give myself a 5 on this scale because I have realized that analyzing art is all opinion. As long as you are comfortable expressing what you see in artwork, it cannot be considered "wrong." I still do not know a lot about artists, but it is easier than I thought to look at a brand new piece of artwork and find meaning in it.
